This year, the Ringier Collection and artgenève will allow visitors to discover or revisit a vast selection of Valentin Carron’s work.
Thought of as a compendium, this exhibition plays on the nature of the works and the spaces in which they are presented. This retrospective, brutally reduced to an imposed format, offers four works. Around a very large sculpture, various moments depicted as a few scans from a body of works. With four paintings, the enthusiastic but outrageously lucid relationship that Valentin Carron portrays of our proximity is offered in a variety of forms. Against a background of coloured cement, seductive but cold fetishes arise from our relationship to objects.
This exhibition was made possible by the artist’s generous assistance, the unrestrictive support of the Ringier Collection and the attentive collaboration of the artgenève team.
